deadass, xkcd's presentation of the idea of the "lucky 10,000" (and, more generally, the framing of how cool it is to be able to introduce people to exciting ideas) is an immensely valuable contribution to our culture.
@starkatt lucky 10000? was that the first 10000 people to understand a new thing or
@amsomniac @starkatt for a thing that "everyone knows" by age 30, roughly 10,000 people learn it each day.
@starkatt this is awesome. For context, here is the xkcd comic:
@starkatt yay for the ability to upgrade other people's wetware. <3
long toot
@starkatt oh no I just thought of this: it's cool when you can introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone to how cool it is to introduce someone
@starkatt I bring it up with new teammates and the like as soon as I can.
@starkatt "you don't know about X? well guess what you're fucking learning about today (it's X because you're my friend and I want you to know cool things)"
