Today I learned about the only workers' strike in space: the Skylab 4 strike, in which the crew went no contact with Houston for 24 hours due to being forced to work 16 hours a day (for 85 days no less), and work through their meals and rest days to catch up when lagging behind.
They never made it out to space again (boo, NASA), but had a definite influence on NASA policies regarding work loads.
@rixx NASA seriously thought it was a good idea to make people work 16h/day, in an environment which is already extremely dangerous and unforgiving? :O
