All my coding project ideas seem to be more database ideas than anything

e.g. an interactive version of my spreadsheet about LGBTQ-related laws in the Muslim world, or a database of every song ever performed in every reality TV music contest, or every merit badge that can be earned in any program

at some point I wanted to compile a database of US$14mil worth of scholarships for women to do with John Oliver's Miss America segment but didn't get round to it youtube.com/watch?v=oDPCmmZifE

i also had an idea of a chart of every Undertale swap au -> "AU where Character X is swapped for Character Y"

for some reason coding all of these ideas is much more tricky than I thought it would be

i just want people to fill in a form and have everything be auto-organised & cross-referenced, why is this so hard

@creatrixtiara relatable honestly, i was trying to do a basic thing with a pokemon spreadsheet the other day where it would auto populate type matchups and the solution ended up being "learn these database commands and also Google's sql-like language"

@creatrixtiara there's probably something database people know about the difference between a spreadsheet and a database but considering how magic the former can be sometimes the distinction feels pretty blurry
