Fediverse, lemme pick y'all's brains for a minute, yeah?

Please read the email in this screenshot.

The section highlighted in the rectangle is the focus. Once you read this, answer this question:

Where do I acquire a shipping box, and are there any expenses?

@Xial Sounds like you're waiting for an email with a printable shipping label, and a trip to the nearest FedEx store for packaging and dropping it off? You do have a printer, right? Maybe you can also print the label at the FedEx store, for a nominal fee, if they make you pay for it like any other pay per page print job.

@Xial That email instructs you that you need to include a copy of it inside the package you'll be sending, as a packing slip. That's separate from the label they're supposed to be instructing FedEx to email you.

@Xial Yes, I noticed the typographical error. I'm going to optimistically assume they meant "any" FedEx location.

@kode54 Going to pull apart sentence no. 2 in that blob:
'Please print the label and apply to your return packaging, which you can get for free from [and] FedEx location'.
In which this sentence (poorly) reads as the person is to print the label, and pick up packaging at a FedEx location at no cost to them.

@Xial Ah, yeah, I think that's quite a mess. Yeah, I think what they mean is: You get a label from a separate email, you print it, or have it printed, and then you take it to the FedEx store, and they have a deal where you also get a free phone mailer package from the store. They probably also tape the label to the package for you, as our UPS store typically does when I print shipping labels on plain paper.

You're right, they're not very clear about it.

@kode54 Yep. Apparently, however, they do *not* have an agreement with FedEx.

Phone mailers are $9.99 each, which I paid yesterday because I really want my phone fixed or replaced, and it was already close to 18:00.

@Xial Ouch, even worse. At least with the AT&T equipment deal at UPS Store, you just drop off the item, give them your billing account number, and walk right out. I realize this is something completely different, but damn, at least they could have worded their damn instructions correctly, like at least be clear you have to pay for your own shipping package.

@kode54 Yep. That's my current annoyance with Motorola (on top of the phone being a pain in my ass pretty much out of box).

@Xial I guess I got lucky when I bought a flagship (Nexus 4), and a WinPhone (Lumia 1020), and then later switched to all Fruit Phones. I even gave my first Fruit Phone to my dad, and sold my second, and now I'm on my third since a year ago this month. Man, I wish I still had money instead of crippling debt.

@kode54 My Nexus 4 is still a nice phone, but needs a new battery and a replacement USB connector.
My Lumia 735 is my current backup device, to keep me from having to buy a phone (as my Nexus 4 won't work on my carrier).
If my Moto e4 Plus would not have been run over by a damn Camry, I'd not even have this issue.

@Xial My Nexus 4 battery swelled up, and I left it in a bag in the back yard. My dad finally got tired of seeing it there after about a week and simply dropped it in the brown bin on garbage day one week.

@kode54 I'm not! I was carrying the thing around as an accompaniment to my Windows phone, so I could at least access things that it couldn't.
Now maybe I'll make myself throw money at a phone that ain't this shitass Motorola.
