I don't usually do the whole "abandon windows and only use foss" thing, but I'm totally in favor of conscientiously phasing out the use of proprietary tools. I'd like to encourage people to consider migration plans to escape dependence on single platforms.
@Irick an a to b, path from, per app or suite, is most welcome. Problem is that os projects are way worse than what they believe to be. Gotta get solid reviews, and a community around it, to keep it honest.
@Irick At this point the only thing I really use windows for is gaming and I'm looking to phase that out as well. As soon as I've built my new desktop I believe I'll be running pure debian and Wine for specific games if it's necessary.

I've started phasing out WINE as well. Mostly because I get frustrated with new games breaking my set up. It works a charm for the classic games I want to play, but distressingly not for whatever flavor of the month my roommates have decided gets their attention :P
@Irick all computers in our household dual-boot ubuntu and windows. Windows is almost never used, of course.
