why aren't turbo buttons just a standard feature of all the consoles by now
this is an accessibility nightmare
by the way why are xbox face buttons convex instead of flat or concave??
no other console does this and it just makes your fingers hurt because of the small surface area
it's terrible and they have made three separate generations of console that do this
maybe four, idk whether the series s or whatever keeps doing this
@00dani I'd argue that it's really down to developers to design their control schemes so as to not need a turbo function.
But yeah, nobody should be button mashing in 2021.
@Wafer to be fair we're playing banjo-tooie, a game from twenty years ago
to be unfair it's the xbox port and they didn't fix anything at all in this version
@00dani yeah, bad call on whoever ported it. Unusual too, given Xbox's strides in accessibility lately.
@00dani ideally turbo buttons wouldn't be needed because devs doesn't insist on adding button mashy things
@ChlorideCull yeah this is banjo-tooie, a game from twenty years ago
but it's the xbox port and they didn't fix anything at all and i'm fuckin pissed that huge companies keep rereleasing worse versions of classic games
@00dani not to discredit your experiences but i think the reason they do it is that it's not common for that to hurt people's fingers
@00dani I was looking at a thread on reddit about Metroid Prime controls and people were saying that putting fire on ZR would be bad because you have to mash the button a lot to fire rapidly
Why can't there just be a button that does that automatically
For what it's worth, the Steam Controller makes for a great solution for this thanks to its dual-stage triggers, you can make a full-press act as turbo fire
